• The U.S. Embassy understands that many visa applicants have paid the visa application processing fee and are still waiting to schedule a visa appointment.  We are working diligently to restore all routine visa operations as quickly and safely as possible.  In the meantime, rest assured that the U.S. Embassy will extend the validity of your payment (known as the MRV fee) until December 31, 2021, to allow all applicants who were unable to schedule a visa appointment as a result of the suspension of routine consular operations an opportunity to schedule and/or attend a visa appointment with the already paid fee.  Please continue to monitor this site for information on when we will return to routine visa operations.
  • The United States Embassy in Beirut remains unable to resume routine immigrant and nonimmigrant visa services at this time due to the global pandemic.  We will resume routine visa services as soon as we can safely reopen, but at this time we are unable to provide a specific date.  The MRV fee is valid and may be used to schedule an interview appointment in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment. If you have an urgent matter and need to travel immediately, please follow the guidance provided at www.ustraveldocs.com, or our call center at 01-964659 to request an emergency appointment. Applicants for H1B, H2B, H4, L and certain J categories covered by Presidential Proclamation 10052 should request an appointment only if you have reason to believe you may qualify for one of the exceptions listed in the Proclamation here: https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/proclamation-suspending-entry-aliens-present-risk-u-s-labor-market-following-coronavirus-outbreak/.

  • The Aramex offices working hours are changing, the new schedule is from 8 am to 2pm.

  • The Interview Waiver Program is temporarily suspended in Lebanon.

  • On January 31, 2020, a new Presidential Proclamation (“Presidential Proclamation 9983”) was issued which added to the ongoing travel restrictions of P.P. 9645 by expanding them to the nationals of six additional countries.  The restrictions only apply to immigrant visas and/or diversity visas, not nonimmigrant visas.  More information is available at this link.
  • Please be reminded to NOT finalize your travel reservations until your U.S. visa is issued. Administrative processing time may delay your visa issuance and travel plans.
